Richard Stone has more than 40 years of experience in investment and financial planning. He is co-founder and chief executive officer of Salient-Friedman Wealth Management, LLC, a firm that manages nearly $600 million in assets*. As an adjunct professor for the College of Financial Planning, Mr. Stone taught all of the courses needed to obtain CFP® certification. He has taught in the master’s degree program at Golden Gate University and serves on their Graduate School Financial Advisory Board. He also sits on the board of trustees for Dominican University of California and for the Global Business Council at the San Jose State University School of Business, and on the Presidio Bank North Bay Advisory Board. He wrote the first code of ethics for the financial planning industry as a board member for the Institute of Advanced Financial Planners.
Mr. Stone has a bachelor’s degree in business and finance from San Jose State University. He was one of the first to receive CFP professional status from the College for Financial Planning in 1973.
