Session Title: |
Google App Engine: Java™Technology in the Cloud |
Session Abstract: |
Google App Engine is a powerful cloud-computing platform designed to help developers more easily create and manage scalable Web applications. With the recent addition of Java™ technology support, developers can now deploy standards-based Java technology-based Web applications on Google’s infrastructure. This session provides a technical overview of the App Engine architecture and the services it provides to developers. It then demonstrates how you can create an AJAX-enabled Web application from scratch, deploy it, and start serving live traffic within minutes. Finally, it takes an in-depth look at the transactional model of the App Engine datastore, a highly scalable, distributed persistence engine that is accessible via standard Java technology-based persistence APIs (Java Data Objects [JDO] and Java Persistence API [JPA]). |
